What was XV Beacon’s design inspiration and how does it influence guest experience?

We are privately owned by one man whose foresight and tastes are exquisite. He has a love of architecture and history but yearns to be on the forefront of services and technology. XVB is the ultimate blend of the traditional and the modern, artistically blending the rich history of the city with a contemporary influence. The intimate, chic lobby feels like an exclusive club or private residence. The furnishings in each guest room have been custom made and perfectly placed to ensure ease of use and convenience. The quality is superb. This truly is one’s home away from home.

From the moment a guest walks through our doors, they are welcomed as if they are a long lost friend. There is a soothing atmosphere of genuine care that envelopes the entire property. Our team takes pride in attention to detail and offers discreet assistance. A sense of ease is reinforced once a guest enters their room, surrounded by an abundance of comfort. Guest room windows allow for a refreshing breeze, a fireplace to warm up to and feature a series of unique, commissioned photographs of Boston/p>

What is your favourite thing to do in Boston?

Boston is truly a walking city. What is so unique is that one sees and feels the rich history of our country entrenched in today’s daily happenings. I love to walk the cobblestone streets of Beacon Hill knowing the historical characters who walked before me. Independent boutiques line Charles Street for wonderful shopping and antiques. I often meander through the North End, our Italian district, where all my senses are invigorated with sights, sounds and scents of amazing restaurants and culture. My love of the water draws me to the Seaport’s vibrant neighbourhoods, where I enjoy strolling along the harbour looking at the boats and breathing in the sea air. Last but not least, it is tremendous fun to attend a game of one of our champion sports teams, whether it be the Red Sox, Bruins, Celtics or New England Patriots, it is always a highlight of my week.
