What do you think makes Miami special?

Miami is truly unique. From the moment you arrive to The Magic City, there is a tangible sense of belonging. It is an incredibly warm, welcoming place, and makes one feel like a local almost instantly. Miami also really celebrates diversity; it is a true melting pot. Here, you can experience an expanse of cultures and backgrounds, and this expands deliciously to the wide variety of cuisine to explore and savour across the city.

Are there seasons, events or timeframes that draw a lot of visitors?

In Orlando, peak seasons include school holidays which creates an atmosphere of anticipation and excitement. Families flock to the city during summer break, spring break, and winter holidays to create lasting vacation memories. Notable events such as the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival, Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando, and the holiday-themed festivities at the theme parks draw crowds and offer immersive experiences. From tantalizing culinary journeys to thrilling encounters and the enchantment of holiday celebrations, Orlando's calendar is filled with moments that ignite the imagination and create cherished memories for all who visit during various times of the year.

What draws people to Miami? Are there seasons, events or timeframes that draw a lot of visitors?

The most popular time to be in Miami begins with Thanksgiving, and from there, continues right into Art Basel. A city-wide celebration of modern art from around the globe each December, Art Basel is a vibrant and exciting time in Miami. The summertime is equally full of great events, especially with Inter Miami, the soccer club Lionel Messi recently joined. In July, Miami also plays host to Swim Week.

What is the most beautiful time to visit Miami?

February and March are the most beautiful in our opinion. The temperature is perfect, around the high 70s, and the humidity is light. It's the highlight of the year, when Miami is truly at its finest.

What is the go-to local brunch spot?

Fantastic question. Without a doubt, it's The Setai. I am proud to say that our weekend brunches, Saturday Rosé Brunch and Sunday Jazz Brunch, have become landmark experiences here. Set in our open-air courtyard, these signature experiences include endless champagne and rosé alongside live music and an incredible collection of elevated brunch classics and Asian dishes. They are well frequented by local guests, and aren’t necessarily just for tourists.

How is The Setai different from other hotels in the area?

You become transported into a completely different world when you walk into The Setai. It feels very much like a sanctuary within Miami Beach. We are steps from beaches, shopping, and Michelin star restaurants – yet the atmosphere is tranquil and calm. The ambiance is best described as a refined, understated luxury.

What unique experiences can guests expect at The Setai?

The Asian Night Bazaar at Jaya is an incredibly unique, transportive experience. Alongside regional culinary specialties from across Asia, like Peking Duck and traditional wok-crafted curries, guests can enjoy live entertainment each night from stages floating atop a central pond. We currently showcase contortionists, aerialists and fire dancers, among others.

Our spa, Valmont for The Spa at The Setai, features Valmont exclusively. Their products are one-of-a-kind, and focus on efficacy, making our Valmont facials very popular amongst guests.

Our Ocean Suites are truly a stand-out accommodation experience. Located in a modern high-rise, these suites feature the best ocean views we have to offer and a collection of exclusive amenities. This includes a dedicated concierge team, daily breakfast, access to our luxury courtesy car, and airport transfers – to name a few.

How has The Setai incorporated technology into the guest experience ?

Intentionally, technology is not at the forefront of the guest experience at The Setai. Much of our technology remains behind the scenes. We appreciate a high level of communication with our guests via texting, which allows them to connect with us at their leisure. But, of course, we ensure +-our internet is as strong and accessible as possible.

We heard about your upcoming Japanese restaurant opening. Tell us more!

After seeing the popularity of Jaya’s sushi offerings, we knew that a Japanese-focused culinary experience would be well received by our locals and guests. Thus, the idea for Japón was born. It will be a magnificently transportive restaurant with richly detailed décor and authentic Japanese cuisine. There are still many surprises to come with this new restaurant, and we look forward to opening this winter.

How does Frette add to the guest experience at The Setai? What inspired the bespoke Frette pieces at The Setai (emblems/logos/colors/materials)?

Comfort is the ultimate luxury. When you consider the overall hotel experience, the guest room is the most important, and intimate, place for a guest. To have Frette as our partner here has always enabled us to exceed expectations. Frette Bespoke linens contributes to the most comfortable rest imaginable.

Where can guests experience Frette at The Setai?

Our guests experience a full suite of Frette items in the comfort of their room. Our collection includes bed linens, bathrobes and terry towels – all detailed with our twin palms.
