The hotel embodies the art of Fengshui - Chinese Geomancy that uses energy forces to harmonise individuals with their surrounding environment. Symbolism is all around the hotel and decoding these Fengshui symbols can be intriguing and great fun as the elements of Fengshui are cleverly incorporated in the art pieces and architectural designs across the hotel.

Conrad Centennial Singapore is Home of the Arts. Hosting an impressive and diverse collection of over 3,400 exquisite artworks in the public areas, restaurants and guest rooms, the hotel doubles up as a gallery with art by local and regional masters. What is your favorite thing to do in Singapore?

Singapore is a very dynamic city and at times, it is vital to be able to escape the hustle and bustle to have time for oneself and the family. We are lucky that we live on an island, hence the beach is always a great place to unwind. From the East Coast Park Beach to Tanjong Beach in Sentosa, we are spoilt for choice. Coupled with some barbecue and some refreshing Gin and Tonic concoctions, it is a perfect day!

Gin-spiration Experience – The hotel has an extensive gin collection with over 21 different gins, two of which are gins made in Singapore. With a range of tonics, bitters and garnishes, guests have hundreds of different gin and tonic combinations to sample.
Afternoon Tea - Every two months the hotel introduces a new afternoon tea theme. Past themes include strawberry afternoon tea to a fashionista afternoon tea where each pastry takes inspiration from the latest runway shows
BBQ at Oscar’s – Sample the extensive buffet, especially the live-grilled charcoal barbeque, theatrical cheese wheel selections and freshly made waffles.

Where is your favourite place at the Conrad Centennial to enjoy a private moment?

My favourite place is theExecutive Lounge on the 31st Floor of the hotel. Upon entering, guests will experience an exclusive residential ambience accompanied by sweeping views of the Civic district and the Marina Bay. Coupled with afternoon tea and evening drinks, one can soak in the ambiance and unwind for the day.

To experience Singapore like a local, where should guests visit?

I would certainly recommend exploring the historical area of the city which is just a stone's throw away from the hotel. Start by taking a leisurely walk to the Padang, where the independence of Singapore was first declared. As a matter of fact, the Padang was recently announced as a National Monument. Surrounding the Padang are some of the country’s famous icons including the National Gallery, Asian Civilization Museum, the Merlion Park and the Victoria Concert Hall.

Can you share the most unique experience the team has crafted for a guest?

We recently found out that one of our long-time guests was away in Thailand for work on his birthday. Knowing that his favourite cake was our Royal Chocolate Hazelnut Crunch Cake and wanting to celebrate the special occasion with him, our pastry chef secretly shipped the ingredients over to the hotel he was staying at and supervised the chef there to recreate this cake for him. He was utterly surprised to receive the freshly baked cake from us.
