Lotte World Tower, where Signiel Seoul is located, has a design focused on the curved beauty that symbolises Korea. It gradually narrows as it goes up from bottom to top, which embodies a simple and elegant appearance of a Korean Traditional calligraphy brush. Many Oriental elements, such as the plum blossom decoration on our guest room headboards, welcome tea sets, and artwork by Yoo Bong-sang, are all reflected in the hotel’s interior. It aims for a luxurious customised service which adds Korean affection to the usual standards.

What is one thing guests will experience only at SIGNIEL SEOUL?

As Signiel Seoul is located between the 76th and 101st floors in the 123-story building (555m-tall, 6th tallest building in the world), it definitely has some advantages. The views from the lobby, guest rooms, and restaurants are a unique attraction, which cannot be enjoyed anywhere else in Seoul. The rare experience of clouds and aeroplanes being laid beneath one's feet is only possible at Signiel Seoul. The rooms consist of a total of seven large categories from Grand Deluxe(40sqm) to Royal Suite (353sqm), and each room has its unique characteristics. What is your favourite thing to do in Seoul?

Among all the things you can experience in Seoul, the ones that I would like to recommend are shopping and food. You can easily find various types of shopping destinations, including department stores, duty-free shops, malls, outlets, and even convenience stores everywhere in Seoul. Moreover, foods from all different regions of the country are gathered here in Seoul. If you are looking for something more active and exciting, then I recommend Lotte World, the only indoor theme park in Korea. It is always popular with family customers because it can be enjoyed regardless of the season or weather.

Which of Signiel Seoul’s services can’t be missed?

I recommend that you try Salon de Signiel (In-House Guest Lounge), which is accessible to all guests regardless of room category. Various kinds of refreshments and drinks are provided all day. From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., it is called ‘evening delight time,’ offering cheese and snacks, as well as unlimited champagne and sparkling wine.

To experience Seoul like a local, where should guests visit?

One of the most popular hot places in Seoul is Songridan-gil, a 5-minute walk from Lotte World Tower. There are many famous restaurants around Songridan-gil, which is so popular among many people that there is a long line of patrons at peak times. If you want to avoid waiting long, I recommend visiting for late lunch or early dinner. After a delicious meal, it is also good to drink cocktails at a rooftop bar with a fabulous night view of Seoul. Looking at the panoramic view of Lotte World Tower or the Han River reflecting the city's lights at an outdoor bar will present you with an overwhelming moment.

Can you share the most unique experience the team has crafted for a guest?

Signiel Seoul is famous for celebrities in the economic, political, and entertainment industries, and even royal families. There is a 24-hour private Butler service for them, and each Butler supports all necessary services to make them as comfortable as possible during their stay for all guests. I would like to share one experience that our team has made iconic for one family. In 2018, one of our Front Desk staff, Regina, helped a special family guest’s check-in. They were two American parents with an Asian daughter, who shared they had visited Korea to travel to Gwangju in Jeolla Province.

Since Regina herself was from Gwangju, she introduced them to some local attractions and great restaurants as if she were an official ambassador. After check-in and while she was feeling sorry that she didn’t have enough time to explain more, the father returned to the Front Desk to let her know that the purpose of the trip was to show his daughter Chloe her hometown before her being adopted by the family when she was a baby. Hearing this story, Regina tried her best to find out the detailed location of the hospital where his daughter was born. In the end, she was able to locate the hospital with the help of her own parents living in Gwangju, only to discover that the hospital closed in 2013, and delivered this sad news to the family.

Two days later, Regina received a picture from Chloe smiling in front of the hospital building, a handwritten letter of appreciation, and cornbread from the bakery which she recommended to them. All employees of Signiel Seoul believe that it is the sincere service of employees that can give joy and happiness to guests who visit our hotel. Our job may be to present a special day to a customer's normal daily life, but that special day can also become a precious moment that lasts forever in someone's memory.
