Interior Designer
Design has always been a part of my life – from my early career as a fashion editor in Manila, Hong Kong and Singapore to my life now as an author of Conversations: Up Close and Personal with Icons of Fashion, Interior Design and Art , decorator and founder and creative director of Blue Carreon Home.
Nature and travel. There is so much beauty around us.
I am always on the lookout for new linens. And since my country house has a predominantly blue and white chinoiserie theme, I am looking to add pieces from Frette’s Chine collection, especially in the blue jacquard colorway. It reminds me of scenic Chinese paintings coupled with the glamour of Art Deco Shanghai.
A bedroom designed my Blue Carreon
My very first apartment because not only it signaled my physical independence, it also heralded the beginning of my own design voice separate from the environs I grew up with.
I’m fascinated by every aspect of it – be it color and texture, spatial planning and industrial design.
Find your own style and live with what you love. It’s too easy to fall into the trap of what’s trendy and hot, but a little difficult to have your own unique point of view.
I spend an unhealthy amount of time on Pinterest and 1stdibs.
Lighting and wall colors. I like soft mood lighting and dark walls in a bedroom. I like my bedrooms to have a cocoon feeling especially if they are in the city.
It is like enveloping yourself in a cloud of luxury.
I love cotton percale sheets. Crisp ones especially.
Fresh flowers always and a Diptyque candle on a Blue Carreon Home Bijoux tray and a book I am currently reading.
