What was the design inspiration for Taj Exotica Resort & Spa?

Each of the resort's luxuriously designed 64 villas and suites is furnished in natural tones and textures and offers ocean views. Suites are perched over the lagoon with nothing but blue ocean waters and glorious sunsets to block the view. All the villas are palm-thatched, built of finest natural wood finishes on the exteriors and the interiors are delightfully appointed in classic Maldivian style.

What are the most important decorative elements in your home?

The first things or elements which comes to my mind when anyone says the word 'home" are “Comfort, Elegant, Nature and Privacy”.
I consider home as the only place in the world where one can be what he/she feel comfortable, relaxed and feel like doing whatever you feel like doing which defines the word comfortable, it is not just about placing the best and expensive art pieces or decoration stuff but one should feel comfortable and feel relaxed. Rather than placing an expensive art piece in a wooden frame on the wall, i would prefer a big window from where you can see the beautiful colors of the sky or the sea and start your day with a shine in your eyes. We at Taj have taken into consideration all these points and all our villa’s and suite’s have comfortable yet elegant furniture to relax and enjoy breath taking view of the Indian ocean and at the same time offer complete privacy with with nothing but blue ocean waters and glorious sunsets to block the view.

What are your three most important elements when designing a bedroom/room?

At Taj we have taken comfort, elegance, nature and privacy into consideration to create a unique one of a kind experience.

How do you define luxury?

Luxury or we would say its a way of living life. We believe in sanskrit saying “Atithi Devo Bhava” which speaks about bond and relationship between guest and host. In Simple words it means "The Guest is Equivalent to God" and at Taj Exotica Resort & Spa Maldives it is our endeavour to offer the best of the best services, to pamper our guests and make their stay memorable which they can cherish for years.

If you only have 72 hours in the Maldives what would you recommend doing or seeing?

Romantic dinner at OCEAN PAVILION, in the heart of our lagoon. Enjoy this unique experience with a snorkelling trip, customized dining, a couples Jiva Grande' Spa treatments or even a spectacular Champagne breakfast.
