New York, NY (November 1, 2007)—Frette today announced plans for a December 2007 opening of a 1200 square foot boutique at the Americana Manhasset, one of America’s premier shopping destination’s, where neighboring stores include Chanel, Gucci and Van Cleef and Arpels. President of Americana Manhasset Deidre Costa Major said, "We welcome the Italian luxury brand Frette as an important addition to our home product offerings. Frette's special heritage of fine quality linens provides our customers with the very best to enhance their homes. In addition, our shoppers will find wonderful gifts including Frette's exquisite lingerie and loungewear as well as soaps, candles and other accessories for both men and women."
With the creative force of world renowned architect’s Janson Goldstein, Frette has developed its first innovative, stylish, modern, retail space without comprising its longstanding heritage and brand pedigree. A new carefully detailed glass and metal façade and canopy frame’s the store entrance and display window of one of Italy’s most venerable brands. Frette’s iconic pattern, a diamond-shaped "rhomba” that incorporates the double F logo, is used above the canopy as a signpost for the brand on the south side of the Americana Manhasset Mall. Sandwiched between layers of custom bronze glass, this subtle reference to Frette’s rich heritage is contrasted with the clean lines of the facade. The sensuality and mood is extended throughout the store by incorporating raw materials such as Russian fumed Oak and sharply contrasting it with white stellar marble floors. Dramatic lighting, stained ash, glass and nickel millwork, create a luxurious and inviting shopping environment.
Further into the heart of the space a custom patterned vignette forms the backdrop to a luxury wall. This wall and all its fittings was custom designed to provide a hands on experience of the product in addition to an appealing visual presentation. This unique area will offer a full array of renowned Frette collections consisting of Russian sable, chinchilla, mink, and assorted cashmeres throws. Cashmere blankets, silk and crushed velvet throws, taffeta duvets and the coveted Limited Edition Helena Collection will also be showcased.
Frette’s new CEO Paul Raffin stated, "This is the first in a series of important steps for Frette that will span the next 5 to 7 years. The Americana Manhasset epitomizes luxury retailing at the highest level, and we are excited to be a part of such an esteemed format. We anticipate the community will respond well to our products, and the pre-opening buzz about the brand has been strong. Our retail store rollout is focused on high profile street locations, malls, and luxury lifestyle projects featuring five star hotels and resorts, fine dining and luxury retail tenancy.
